Passive Keyless Entry brings push-button, walk-up-and-drive comfort to almost any car. Here is how it works and what to expect on install.
Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) detects your key fob as you approach and automatically unlocks the car — then lets you start it with a push button. It's the single biggest comfort upgrade you can add to an older vehicle.
How it works
A receiver in the car constantly listens for your fob. Step within range and the doors unlock; walk away and they lock themselves. No more fishing for keys with your hands full.
What you get in the kit
Siren, control module, antennas, push-start button and a wiring map. Installation should always be done by a professional auto electrician to avoid dashboard faults.
Is it right for you?
If you frequently carry bags, kids or coffee, PKE pays for itself in convenience within a week.
